Split pacingOn race day

Three decisions you stop having to make.

Set the race

Pick the distance and the date. Vura builds the weeks backwards from it: base, build, peak, taper.

Run the day

Each morning you get one session, already sized to your recovery. Miss one and the week reshapes itself.

Race it

A split-by-split pace plan anchored to your current threshold, sharpening as your fitness moves.

Today

Readiness in. Session out.

Your plan picks what you run. Your recovery decides how much of it you are good for. Vura reads your recovery score, your load ratio and how hard the last few days actually felt, then tells you one thing: what to run, and why.

  • Distance range and target pace, not a vague "easy run"
  • Plain-language reason for every change
  • Feel different? Push it up or dial it back yourself

The plan

A 12-week block that survives real life.

Sick week, work trip, a run that went too well. The plan absorbs it and rebuilds forward from where you actually are, never stacking missed kilometres onto Saturday. You see exactly what changed, and one tap reverts it.

  • Effort budget: the best day this week to push
  • Missed sessions rebalanced, never stacked
  • Want to run today? Ask, and it fits one in

Race day

Know your pace before the gun.

Vura predicts your finish from your current threshold pace and hands you a slight negative split: controlled through the first 5K, strongest in the last.

Strength, not extra

Short strength sessions placed where they build the fitness your goal needs, without wrecking the key runs.

A coach you can argue with

Ask why a session changed, or ask for a run today. Every answer is grounded in your own data, and applied only if you say so.

Run analysis

Route, splits, heart rate and effort after every run, logged against the plan rather than into a void.

On your wrist

Today's session on the watch, with recovery data pulled from Whoop, Apple Health and Garmin.

Every kilometre, before you start it.

Not a finish time and a shrug. Vura gives you the whole race as a band you can tape to your wrist, anchored to your current threshold and re-cut every time your fitness moves.

Load management, not motivation.

ACWR

Acute-to-chronic workload ratio keeps this week's training honest against the last four. It is the standard sports-science guardrail against doing too much, too fast.

Threshold

Every pace target, easy through long, comes from your current threshold pace, re-estimated from real runs rather than a form you filled in once.

Periodised

Base, build, peak, taper. Mostly easy running with a small dose of hard work, which is what actually gets first-timers to the line intact.

Vura is in private beta

A small group of runners is training on it now, across 5K builds and a couple of marathon blocks. Their words go here once they have finished one, which is the only point at which a training app is worth quoting anyone about.

Questions
runners ask

I've never run before. Is this too much?

No. The 5K plan starts from walk-run intervals and builds from where you actually are. The first weeks are deliberately easier than you expect.

Do I need a watch or a Whoop?

No. Vura works from your phone and how you rate each run. If you do have Whoop, Apple Health or Garmin data, recovery accuracy improves.

What happens if I miss a week?

The plan rebuilds around the time you have left, rather than piling missed volume onto next week. You'll see exactly what changed and why.

Can I keep my own sessions?

Yes. Add a run any day, or link one you already did. Vura absorbs it into the week's load and adjusts the rest.

Is the strength work in a gym?

Most of it is bodyweight and needs 20 minutes at home. Gym variants are there if you want them.

What do I actually get for free?

The whole daily loop, permanently: a real periodised plan built to your race, this week's sessions adapted to your recovery every morning, run tracking, Apple Watch export, every recovery integration, 30 days of history and 8 coach messages a month. Pro opens the rest of the plan, uncaps the coach, adds strength and keeps your full history.

Is there an Apple Watch app?

Yes. There is a watchOS companion, and you can send today's session to the watch as a structured workout with the run syncing back automatically. It is an add-on, not a requirement.

What happens to my health data?

Vura reads recovery signals only to plan your training. It is never sold and never used for advertising. It stays tied to your account in private cloud storage. The Privacy Policy has the specifics.
